Focus on what’s important…

Sometimes I will struggle for months to learn a skill in Photoshop. Often I will learn it and then not have a need to use my hard w0n knowledge for months and months…to the point that I sometimes forget that I ever knew it and I go back to the beginning of the learning curve. Then there are times when I remember bits and pieces and then it all comes back!

Today is one of those times.  All of this just to say: I did a thing!

AZ Ren Faire 2019 – Sunday February 10th (Opening Weekend)

AZ Ren Faire 2019 – Sunday February 10th (Opening Weekend)*

This year’s post of my first visit to AZRF is a little different. I’ve broken out a few select images into their own sets on Flickr. These images are not contained in the “Main” set so you need to view the subsets in order to see all of the images.

I’ve provided links to all the sets right here. As well as a few teaser images selected at random just to whet your whistle!

Patrice Ruane – Spinet Girl at AZRF 2019

As promised, here are the links to the Main set & Sub-Sets on Flickr
The Main Set: There are 241 images here. Please take your time while viewing and feel free to leave some comments!

Patrice Ruane – The Spinet Girl: Patrice is always my first stop when I visit the AZRF. Take some time to view my images of her over the years!

Gwendolyn Show: I have a confession: I have always been intrigued by Gwendolyn whenever I have seen here during previous visits to AZRF, but never had the opportunity to talk to her. This year I saw here standing at the stone bridge, holding up her “Advice” sign and I got a few candids and approached to show her. And then, something great happened…we started chatting and the conversation was just so…natural. She is a very fun person to talk to!  It was just a few minutes until her next show at the Royal Pavillion, so I decided to take some more pics of her performance. I’m so glad I did! And now I share them with you!

Alina Masquerade: Alina is a local Cosplayer who was visiting AZRF as a Pirate Wench. at the end of Gwendolyn’s performing at the Royal Pavillion she and her photographer came in to shoot a few photos. But the next event in the Pavilion was starting and we all had to leave.
I asked if I could shoot with her, and we wound up in the Green Grass field where folks were gathering for the Fire Whip show. It was a challenge in such bright direct sunlight, but Alina made it work.

Street Juggler: The last subset is just a fun little animation of a street juggler and the photos I used to create it.

* As always, if you were kind enough to pose for my camera and would like copies of those images to share and use in your social media, please contact me. Include your name, the file name/s of the images you would like, and your preferred email address and I’ll Dropbox the images for you. 🙂

Devan Rodgers Hair Toss – Junkyard

Devan Rodgers’ next animation is the “Hair Toss”. Unlike the Hair Flip…the Hair Toss doesn’t require the model to get dizzy.
Once again, this was shot at “Sasserfraz Pictures – Home Of “The Junkyard Shoot out”

Nikki Goode at the Junkyard: Hair Flip – Censored

I actually think I am getting a bit better at creating these animations. But I’m not the best one to judge. You tell Me

Model: Nikki Goode.

Miss Loree, Nikki & Devan at the Junkyard – 01/26/2019

This marks my 6th adventure at the Yard. And every time I attend I meet the most gracious and talented models. This time was no different. Once again there was an Amazing Gathering of Talented Photographers and Models attending the Junkyard in Wittmann Az. for a day of creation.

This year I recruited my friend Alex (AKA Rage of the Dark Ones) to be my assistant and Voice Activated Light Stand. I am extremely grateful he was with me this time as I don’t think I would have been as successful without his help!

As soon as we arrived, we encountered a beautiful, dark curly-haired model named  Miss Loree. Now, as it happens, Miss Loree is a friend of Rage’s.  In fact, she noticed him first…(He’s kinda hard to miss, even in a crowd) and came over to greet him. So, naturally I asked to shoot with her. The resulting images are wonderful, if I do say so myself!

She is a tall, olive skinned beautiful woman. Very professional, and patient! I truly appreciated that last quality as we were working in a kinda cramped space with a mixture of shade and direct sunlight that presented some challenges which took a bit of creative work to overcome. Also, she exudes a Classic Beauty that just makes every pose glamorous!  (Model Mayhem)

Here’s a taste of what I mean:

If you have been following my Photography on Social Media at all, you probably know this next model. A gorgeous, dark-haired, blue eyed beauty:  Nikki Goode.
I have worked with Nikki  several times in the past, and each time the results were fantastic! She has an ease about her along with unbounded energy, and a willingness to try any idea along with the skill to pull it off!  This time was no different:   (IG)

Nikki Goode has a Smile as Bright as her Eyes!

Nikki Goode: Hot enough to Burn the Atmosphere all around her!

====================================================

The last model I am Showcasing was Nikki’s friend Devan.  Devan was attending her very first Junkyard Shoot. In fact, this was her modeling debut!
I am Honored and Thrilled to have been among the first photographers to shoot with her and hopefully provide her with high quality Professional Level images for her book.  (IG)
Let me show you what I’m talking about:

I am really excited about sharing more images of the talented models I worked with at this event!

DMP 2K18: Valhalla!

Follow this link to see the whole set on Flickr:  DMP 2K18: Valhalla!

“Lo there do I see my father; Lo there do I see my mother and my sisters and my brothers; Lo there do I see the line of my people, back to the beginning. Lo, they do call me, they bid me take my place among them, in the halls of Valhalla, where the brave may live forever.”

The veil between the world of the living and the lands of the dead thins once more. But this night, the path opens to torch fires and laughter, and mighty feats in a great feast hall full of the victorious dead. Lo, the gates to Valhalla have opened, and bid you welcome!

Within these halls, have no fear, these Norse warriors of yore are ruled over by Father Odin, who drinks the finest mead as his warriors regale each other with stories of great battles and brave acts. But beware, while the fires of Valhalla are warm and welcoming, there are terrors outside those great doors. The inglorious dead of Hela prowl for the unwary. The beast Grendel rages at the noise of laughter, and hungers for live flesh. And other things, that have found their way from distant graves on this night when the veil between worlds fades…

What are the Dark Ones doing here? We don’t know, but it’s probably Loki’s fault.

For those of you who are new to the whole “how do I get a copy of my pics from the party?” thing, here’s how it works: If you got to this page via Facebook, please message me from there, tell me which photo/s you’d like, be certain to include your preferred email address, and I will dropbox the images for you.

If you got here from my business card, use the email address on the card. Or, if you’d like to experiment, you could send smoke signals, or a Raven with the info…But it’s much more likely to get a response using either one of the first two methods… Just sayin’.

Here is the link to my photos from Thurs 05/24/18 at Phoenix Comic Fest 2018

In this photo: The beautiful DJ Dollz take a moment to pose for a photo with a young storm trooper. Oh, and Dead Pool is in this photo as well.

It’s a (strange) family affair!

Lonna Manson

Lonna Manson is a traveling model I met a couple of years ago at the very first Junkyard Shootout I attended.

I finally had an opportunity to work with her again. One of the most “comfortable in her skin” people I have ever met… I had a great time on this shoot!
